A Connected Kitchen Design
Before After

Our innovative approach to the design allowed us to overcome challenges in the existing space to achieve the client’s key design goals. The existing drop ceiling hid a tangle of plumbing that other remodeling firms did not want to touch, but our team rerouted it, reframed the ceiling, and installed drywall, allowing us to gain height and continuity throughout the space.
We demolished existing cabinets and reframed the space to support new cabinetry. The design features Koch Cabinetry Savannah in Maple Pecan and Smokey Blue for a beautiful two-tone cabinet design with specialty cabinets, such as peg drawers and utensil pullouts. A custom tile design from Absolute Design Studio offers a stunning accent to the cabinetry. Our team relocated plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to match the new layout.
We also converted the awkward under-stair space into pantry cabinets, yielding the client about 80% more storage than before. The client opted to add a half bath to the project scope, which allowed us to design the kitchen, bathroom, and first floor flooring at the same time, completing all of their first floor goals in one project. Continuous luxury vinyl plank flooring and recessed lighting help to tie the space together, so the renovation reads as one cohesive environment rather than three renovated rooms.
This home remodel was a true family affair, with multiple generations contributing bold and creative ideas to create a unique gathering space at the heart of the home. Our team and the homeowners truly enjoyed working together. The client appreciated having a dedicated interior designer to help them find the perfect fixtures and finishes for their new space. We enjoyed the collaborative approach and the opportunity to help the homeowners create a one-of-a-kind design that fits their lifestyle.
Open and Inviting Kitchen
In this kitchen remodel, the Solstice team worked with our client to transform an enclosed kitchen into a connected, light-filled living space that is the center of family life. To accomplish this, we removed the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, reconfigured the transition from the kitchen to the living room, and replaced the drop ceiling.
The original kitchen was separated from the dining room and nearby living areas by walls that blocked light, limited movement, and created a single-wall workflow with poor storage access. The existing layout constrained how the family used the first floor, particularly for gathering and entertaining.
The new kitchen is truly the hub of the home, connecting three previously separate spaces, while dramatically improving natural light, traffic flow, and sightlines. We reconfigured the range wall to improve the cooking zone, support a new appliance layout, and allow space for a proper exterior-vented custom cabinetry hood that wasn’t possible in the original layout.
