A First Floor Fully Transformed
Before After

The new kitchen design features HomeCrest Cabinetry, which was also used in the half bath remodel. The kitchen is anchored by two custom islands in Haven (a beautiful blue tone) that contrasts with the French Vanilla perimeter cabinets and pairs beautifully with Cambria quartz countertops. One island features a 36” induction cooktop with a telescopic downdraft vent, while the other is geared to entertaining with a beverage refrigerator and a barstool.
The perimeter features a Ruvati Roma 45” undermount stainless steel workstation sink with sound dampening technology, paired with a Signature Hardware Hurston double handle bridge pull down faucet. The workstation transforms the ordinary kitchen sink into a multi-functional tool with accessories that make food prep and clean up easier. The cabinet layout extends to create a cozy window seat, and we partnered with Carlos Interiors in Crofton to finish this space with the beautiful upholstered bench tops.
The homeowners also love to entertain, so we rearranged the front living room to make it the ideal television viewing area. We refurbished the fireplace and moved the television above the mantle with a “picture frame” surrounding it that makes it a decorative and functional feature. The laundry room was completely relocated to an upstairs bedroom, which freed up even more main level square footage.
Finally, we installed new nail down hardware wall-to-wall across the entire first floor, and gave the whole main level a fresh coat of paint, new trim, and crown molding to tie it all together. The result is a seamless first floor designed for family moments and gathering with friends.
Bright Kitchen in Blue and White
This project is not your average kitchen refresh – it is a total first floor transformation. The original kitchen was a large space that felt very small due to an ineffective layout where nothing worked. When you entered the kitchen, the first and only thing you could see was a huge island bulkhead with wall cabinets that dominated the view.
The laundry was also in the center of the kitchen and confined to a small room that made it difficult to function. You entered the house from the garage, ending up in a tiny room with a small opening to the kitchen that impeded movement, carrying in groceries, and getting around other people. The Solstice team addressed these issues by opening up the entire main level, including removing the walls of a butler’s pantry, laundry room, and pantry to create an open, redesigned kitchen.
