Kitchen Remodel in Crofton MD
Kitchen Remodel Before and After
In this Crofton kitchen remodel, the Solstice team worked with our client to reimagine a kitchen that was too small, not functional, and lacked storage. To create a kitchen design that finally fit their home and lifestyle, we moved everything! This allowed us to create a layout that really works and turn the once-narrow kitchen into a spacious, light-filled centerpiece for the entire first floor. The key goals were to maximize the layout while including more room for entertainment and space for a casual seating area.
We started by removing the wall to the dining room, which allowed us to create a much larger kitchen footprint. This gave us space to relocate the oven, hood, and fridge, completely turning the kitchen layout around and making it a much more functional room that flows. The original kitchen layout was too narrow to include an island overhang. In the new kitchen design, we gained some much-needed space for a beautiful and functional keyhole-shaped island that incorporates casual seating.
Kitchen Design for Connection
This kitchen remodel included replacing the kitchen sink window with a 6-foot wide window, which brought tons of much-needed natural light to the space. We also removed the original pantry and instead added cabinet pantry storage to the new kitchen design. This created more efficient, better organized pantry storage and allowed us to build a beautiful feature unit where the original pantry was located. It houses small appliances, because everyone needs a home for those small appliances so they don’t clutter your countertop! This new unit also includes wall cabinets for decorative accessories, creating a feature that is both utilitarian and a style focal point.
Enhanced storage was a key goal in this new kitchen design and the Solstice team more than delivered. Tons of new accessories make this kitchen a storage dream. The challenge for the homeowner will be to fill up their new storage spaces over the next few years! We also updated the home’s flooring throughout the first floor. Like many of our kitchen remodels that include new first-floor flooring, we also completed a half-bathroom remodel. This created a sense of cohesiveness throughout their first floor with coordinated cabinets, countertops, and flooring. The result is a bright, open, and efficient kitchen designed to fit the home and enhance everyday living.
