Stunning Koch Cabinetry anchors this design and draws the eye, with crisp Ivory perimeter cabinets contrasted by Capri Drift island and buffet cabinetry. The raised panel door profiles and ornate corbel details on the range hood surround nod to classic craftsmanship, while brushed gold hardware ties the design together with a touch of warmth.
The layered lighting design in this kitchen was intentional and created to balance style and functional needs. Lit glass front cabinets cast a warm ambient glow, while under cabinet lighting bathes the countertops in task-ready brightness. Recessed ceiling fixtures provide even, overhead lighting, and a pair of faceted amber glass pendant chandeliers over the island are both a functional fixture and a jewel-like accessory.
Silestone Ethereal Glow countertops feature throughout the kitchen, with their soft veining complementing the cabinetry and tying together the entire room. The kitchen’s two prep areas include a main sink and a dedicated prep sink, each outfitted with Kohler Artifacts faucets. The custom pocket door provides a seamless transition to the adjacent space, disappearing entirely when open to preserve the kitchen’s clean sightlines and open flow into the living and dining areas. This door was imported from Europe and arrived with damaged glass after a months’ long lead time. To avoid delays in the project timeline, we coordinated a custom glass replacement to match the original unit built into the door.
The beautiful backsplash is nothing short of a showcase, commanding attention from anyone who enters the room. Hand-crafted sage green Arabesque tile flows across the entire kitchen backsplash. The homeowner requested three different grout colors throughout the mosaic to complement different shades in the design, which required precise, skilled work from our trusted installer. At the range, a custom mosaic tile mural is framed like a piece of fine art. It depicts a sunflower and songbird in rich jewel tones, transforming the cooking area into a gallery-worthy focal point that truly sets this kitchen design apart.
Same Footprint with a Fresh New Design
This kitchen remodel is the perfect example of a design that makes a huge impact on the home without removing walls or reconfiguring the layout. The Solstice team worked with the existing footprint to completely transform the space in a stunning space that balances timeless elegance and everyday functionality. This design proves that sometimes you just need to rethink the kitchen you already have, not create an entirely new space.
We removed dated materials, wallpaper, and the bulkheads, which allowed us to take advantage of the room’s wonderful 9-foot ceilings. We also shifted the range slightly and designed a more functional and appealing island. The design utilized the existing railing that divides the kitchen and family room to create more usable storage and enhance the room’s aesthetics. This provided the perfect spot for a buffet when entertaining as well as extra storage for seasonal items, eliminating the need to go down to the basement to retrieve them.
